La Badil will be screened at the FiSahara International Film Festival, held in the heart of the Sahara Desert. The festival runs from 8th–13th October in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Algeria, North Africa, offering a unique and immersive cinematic experience in one of the world’s most remote regions.
Founded in 2003 as a collaborative cultural project between the Spanish filmmaking community and the exiled Sahrawi people, FiSahara brings films directly to the desert. The festival takes place in the Hammada, “the desert of deserts,” and attracts hundreds of participants each year, including actors, directors, journalists, donors, and civil society representatives. Over the course of a week, visitors celebrate cinema through screenings, workshops, concerts, and other cultural activities, creating a vibrant forum for storytelling, dialogue, and solidarity.
